Why Rajamouli selected Sunil as Hero ?

When Rajamouli announced that he would direct Sunil in Maryada Ramanna after the stupendous success of the Magadheera movie, many were surprised. But the success of the Maryada Ramanna movie silenced everyone.

However recently Rajamouli shared one 'secret' on why he selected Sunil for the Maryada Ramanna movie at a private party.

Though Magadheera was a stupendous success, Ram Charan was the one who got most credit though it was a director's movie. And at a party after Magadheera's success, one person commented that Magadheera and also his previous films were successes since he always casted top heroes like NTR, Ram Charan, Prabhas etc.

Hurt by these comments, Rajamouli decided that in the next film he would cast a hero who is not handsome and also who is a character artiste.

And indirectly it was Ram Charan who was responsible for Sunil getting the hero chance in the Maryada Ramanna movie!
