He won the award again in 2002 for Takkari Donga with Lisa Ray and Bipasha Basu. Year 2003 was another year for award winning performances with Nandi Award for Best Actor for Nijam and Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Award for Okkadu with Bhoomika Chawla.

The 2006 release Pokiri, made around the realty mafia, won him the Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Award for his portrayal of Pandu, a thug. Athidi with Amrita Rao released in 2007 was directed by his brother Ramesh Babu. There were no releases in 2008. However his fans can look forward to KHALEJA which has him playing a taxi driver opposite Anushka.
