I think most of the investors have moved out of CA and are concentrating on secondary markets like Dallas, Atlanta and Florida where the prices are still cheap and there is room for growth. Bay Area is very close to a bubble now..

the visas will be gone case pretty soon..it would be much tougher..not right time to buy homes or new cars

if you buy a 300k house with mortgage for 30 years, you will end paying 250k as interest.Two questions 1)will you be able to survive on h1 visa for next 30 years-under current gc backlog  2)are you willing to pay 550k by the end of 30 years or you have enough money to payoff your loan soon.If your answer is yes to both then you can buy house i guess
