Indian embassy oci process.

I went to cgi verified my application for oci with consulate officer. Cgi officer confirmed all documents are in place. Infact he confirmed , I uploaded more than required document.

After paying in full and shipping them to cox and Kings , they returned the entire pacakge saying..one document is missing.

Who ever designed oci application procedure and thought it would be great to refill the whole application from scratch every time we" miss a line" or erroneously filled a line or a attachment file is a great individual.

Because of failing to upload birth certificate, though uploaed on ckgs website and got it notarized, the entire package was returned because you cannot upload the document on government oci portal once you hit the submit button.

And on ckgs if you submit details to step 1 and proceed to step 4 you cannot update details in step 1. You have to start filling document from scratch all over again

mana India portals gurinchi entha takkuva matladukunta antha manchidhi..applying for h1b and usa visa is more easy than applying for OCI..previous vendor enka worst undadhi present CKGS is somewhat better and atleast these people attend call if you keep trying..

Literally you need to first write down everything on paper what they need and arrange them, you will deferentially miss something if you just go by thier checklist or website instructions.

This happened to me just a few days back. The Indian consulate has rejected my son’s OCI petition just because of not providing couple of documents. Instead of rejecting the petition and sucking my money, they should have requested for those missing documents. Bunch of assholes who work at OCI Department in INDIA.

How much refund did you get back ?

I might end up loosing 700$ if they don't refund as we applied for two.

My friend forgot to upload apt lease paper . So they charged him 8$ for taking printouts of full 8 pages of lease.

Also Cox and Kings are charging for answering phone calls for extended time.

Note that birth certificate is already sent to cox and Kings but since it has not uploaded on government portal, they rejected my application.

I didn't upload on government portal because it was mentioned as relationship document instead of birth certificate

When I applied few years back, i was told they will keep application on hold if we miss any doc till they receive it. Did they changed the process ?

They outright rejected my application while saying their refund team will review refund and refund will be partial.

And they say there process sucks not because of them, because they are following guidelines set by Indian embassy.
