If you are > 21 and < 50, OCI is valid and does not expire. If not everytime you get a new passport you have to renew.

Renewal

Renewal and reissue of the OCI document is required to on each passport renewal for holders up to the age of 20 year and once on the first passport issued after the age of 50. For other holders, it is generally advisable to renew, but not compulsory when obtaining a new passport. The OCI card has the old passport number, and that old passport may be required to be carried along with the new passport, and OCI document to avoid issues.[8]

They outright rejected my application while saying their refund team will review refund and refund will be partial.

And they say there process sucks not because of them, because they are following guidelines set by Indian embassy.

when I did few months back, I had to cancel the application and they refund me embassy fee taking about CKGS fee something thing around $15 I think. This is before sending the docs.

you may get back embassy fee minus CKGS fee and fedex fee

I do not see any issue with application Process o-c-I. It is a step by step process, if you follow the process then it will be easy.

I agree, requires lot of documentation.

This happened to me just a few days back. The Indian consulate has rejected my son’s OCI petition just because of not providing couple of documents. Instead of rejecting the petition and sucking my money, they should have requested for those missing documents. Bunch of assholes who work at OCI Department in INDIA.

@WHAT to confirm with @AlaElaAlaEla and @iPhoneX

It is not sir.

It won't allow you to edit step 4 once you submit the step 1.you have to start from scratch.

And it never mentions to upload marriage certificate of parents. Rather it asks to upload marriage certificate of applicant. Now cox and Kings say they have to uplod marriage certificate if parents in government website.

It basically mixes both the child application process and adult application process under same steps.

In place of birth of applicant ..I just got confirmed instead of place of birth, it should be name of the state ,not city.

Great
