Greg Abbott and his Texas delegation return home this weekend from a nine-day trip to India Indian tech company Wipro to create 150 jobs in Plano, with 450 more likely Indians represent the second-largest immigrant group to Texas by national origin, according to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Between 2011 and 2016, more than 100,000 immigrants from India moved to Texas. Abbott said he’s neutral on whether Texas would be better served by having nonstop flights to India from DFW or from Houston. In an ideal world, the state would get both, he said. “The short take is,” Abbott said this week, “if I can get an airline or multiple airlines as well as an airport to step it up, we pretty much have a done deal."
