Benedryl OverDose

Today I went to Emergency suspecting an anaphylaxis (suspecting). Mundhu jagratha ga to avoid risk.

I told them I have taken 2 Zyrtec at home. They administered heavy dose of Benedryl (she said 4) + Methylprednisolone+ Pepcid + (some clear fluid not sure what that was)one after another IV (injection).

With in seconds my Blood pressure Heart rate went high and I was feeling anxious. At one point of time I thought I am done.

Nurse was asking me to relax. I was chanting mruthyunjaya mantra after some time heart rate slowly decreased but considerably high.

After 2 hrs after administering saline BP was normal, (diastolic a little low). heart rate 99. they sent me home.

In between I fell extremely thirsty. and was shivering heavy..

I was asked to sign papers when I was shivering.

All this happened between 3 am to 6 am today.

 

After I got alright it is clear that I am given over dose. They gave me Transition of care record.

Except IV , everything else was mentioned.

I am feeling suspicious.

Before administering she never discussed about the dose, I wouldn't have allowed. she didn't give me time to respond nor she discussed what I would be administered.

I am doing ok but feeling anxious.

If there are any doctors in DB can you PM me.

2 Zyrtec,  4 Benadryl and methylpredinisolone - is very high dosage for allergies.

As I was very anxious just to deviate and relax was chanting that mantra
