My mother faced the same issue while she was travelling all alone for her first trip to US

1. Write a letter to stating, i am son of So and so, work details,  home address, phone number etc. and  tell them your mom has problem communicating in English.

2. Have a folder for her with all documents in it. just give the folder as it is to the POE immi officer, just explain her the thumb impression and photograph process.
