© Provided by CBS San Francisco LEGGETT, Calif. — Recovered vehicle debris and personal items confirm that an SUV seen plunging into a storm-swollen Northern California river belonged to a family that disappeared last week, authorities said Thursday.

The vehicle itself and the four members of the Thottapilly family have not been recovered from the Eel River, which remains too dangerous for divers to enter, but searchers along the banks located numerous items consistent with a Honda vehicle body and interior, and items consistent with a family traveling on vacation, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

when you drive on snow,,, it can easily flip over because of high center of gravity

There are local roads like that but I am not sure how highways have dangerous spots like this..

previous family accident was intentional.

according to the witness, thottipalli family wanted to stop by the side the of the road, but car didnt stop, fell into the river.

so sad man.

they are old people in 70s, driving back of tottipalli family anta. it seems wether was bad with heavy rain at that time. anyhow, they called 911, and based on their report search was started.
