Vizag lacks political leadership who can fight for the city. It has been neglected all the time even though it has potential like Hyd. If Vizag also had few IT companies when Hyd was growing, it would hav been nice. It would have controlled migration. Right now, once a student graduates, they go to Hyd/Chennai/Blore for jobs

Vizag has its own share of problems. The main problem being a geographical location. It’s part of the hinterland belt which is one of the most under developer tribal regions in india. Orissa,Chhattisgarh,Bengal hinterland. 

Saying so, the same geographical location can be turned to its advantage as this region lacks a bigger city and by welcoming people fro else where. With Native population, Vizag will become Visapatnam.

Apart from Chennai, there is Coimbatore,Madurai,Tutucorin and other cities which are industrially well developed on the lines with Chennai 

and when it comes to Mumbai, It’s hinterland is a highly industrial zone, Mumbai hinterland extends upto Baroda in the north and until Ratnagiri in south...almost 600 KMS and deep extending until indore and Nagpur...Now, Do you understand what hinterland means ?

For Vizag, this service area is mostly backward and tribal area with huge forest cover and eco zones, leaving less space for expansion and no earmarked SEZ’s in these zones, except for mine export from Jharkhand

The geographical location of Vizag is the best on the east coast of India...thats the reason why its the major hub and Gateway for all commercial connections to southeast asia and japan and the seat of Eastern Naval command..

Its strategically located at the center of the east coast of the country just like Mumbai on the west coast...which makes mumbai the Head of the western Naval command! This is the reason why for a population of 3 million its GDP is higher than many of the bigger cities in India and it stands in the 8th place in INdia...

Its due to its location that it has the country's best seaport, naval dockyard,  and all the so called Navrathnas of the Public sector undertakings....AP lo madhya lo ledu moola undi ani sollu pracharam yellow media and its pulka followers di just to say what they did by making Kammaravati capital...
