For the first time, all the major stars of Tollywood have come together to discuss various issues in the wake of recent developments like casting couch allegations, media circus and dealings of Movie Artistes' Association.

The prime topic of discussion was how to control TV news channels that have been running smear campaign on Tollywood and defaming actors.

The meeting was held by Megastar Chiranjeevi who personally called all the leading stars. However, Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is part of ruling AP government, declined to participate when the invitation was sent to him.

The meeting was closed-doors affair. It was held at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad and the media was not allowed to cover this meet. No one briefed the media after the end of the meet either. 

Sources have revealed that no major decision was taken as several members have opposed the idea of boycotting of news channels en masse.

It was discussed that no celebrity should go to live discussions on news channels. Some have agreed to this and some have not shown interest.

But all reported have come to the conclusion that there should be a plan to contain the section of media that is spewing venom on movie actors and defaming the industry with malicious intent.

A further meeting would take place before taking any decision. The pro-TDP stars are fearing to agree to the proposals put by Chiranjeevi.
