US city Mayor impressed with infra in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Round Rock Texas has evinced interest in signing sister city pact with Hyderabad. Round Rock Texas Mayor Craig Morgan and Laurie Hadley, City Manager met Mayor Bonthu Rammohan here on Tuesday. The visiting Mayor along with the City Manager and others are in the city to explore investments possibilities in different fields, especially in Pharma, IT and others.

In this connection, the visitors called on Mayor Bonthu Rammohan at the GHMC Head Office. During interaction, Craig Morgan informed that the City of Round Rock consists of 11 lakh population and many Indians are also residing in the city.

 

The visiting team studied the Municipal Corporation’s property tax collection system and was impressed with the sanitation and road maintenance in the city. Morgan further stated that they are willing to sign Sister City Agreement with the GHMC in the near future.

Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said Hyderabad was a 425-year-old city and GHMC has signed Sister City Agreements with eight different cities in the world. Briefing the developmental works being taken up in the city, the Mayor said Hyderabad was the fastest developing city in the country. Later, he presented a Charminar Memento to the visiting Mayor and others, said a press release.
