Polavaram is being funded b central funds as it is a national project and this project may be of huge improtance to TDP before the elections but not for the central government. Phase wise funds will be released and so has been happening.

TDP has diverted huge funds from this to other projects and misused it. And at the same time, the original bidder for this project which is transtroy has miserabl failed to execute the project which is backed by TDP/Rayapati sambasiva Rao....when excess bills are being produced and no work was being done, central government stopped issuing bills which made transtro bankrupt with in days.

Usually, a construction company may take atleast 2-3 months but ie case lo with in days, transtroy went bank rupt..a situation state government ki ae dikku leka it bought in other contractors like Navayuga,Indo-Barat,Gayatri to accomplish the remainig project.

The delays can be attributed to state government which is taking care of this project.

Jaggu bad luck entante.....his padayatra effect is diluted by special status sentiment and PK hadavudi.....TDP ee term populist schemes baane dimpindhi compared to last time.......so advantage TDP.....

TDP has utterly failed to manage this project. They thought the can use this project as election gain. 

HUge irregularities existed in the construction of coffer dam, almost 600 crores of works wasted. 

Ipudu, Navayuga is now managing almost 80% of the rock fill,earth moving works which is supposed to be taken care by Trantroy.

As far as I know AP gov is submitting uc n getting funds from center as of now

Center didn't give any funds straight away before giving uc 

Where is the point of diverting polavaram funds??

As far as you know....But in reality, it dosent work like that.

in budget, if the total project cost is 1000 crores, it will usually be released in 2-4 installments over the next 3-4 years. This is how budget works as it is being prepared by central government and not onl polavaram, they have to think about other crucial prijects in the country too...

Polavaram was initially subjected to complete in 8-10 years, revised budget in similar fashion to release funds, inital budget went way ahead than it would cost and costs have gone up three fold. 

the total cost of the project would be Rs 58,319 crore. Initially, the total cost of the project was pegged at Rs 1,6010.45 crore (2010-11 price level), excluding rehabilitation cost. So far, 52 per cent work is completed at a cost of Rs 12,682.56 crore till November, 2017. So far, Rs 4,329.06 crore has been released to the state government through Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) and the balance reimbursement to be made to state Government is Rs 3,217.63 crore.

from initial budget of 16,000 crores when the plan was finalised, now TDP govt has revised the budget to 58,000 crores in less than 5 years.

Initial budget was prepared to be at 16,000 crores to be released over 8 years and TDP revised the budget at 58,000 crores to be released before 2018 so that they can go to elections in 2019 with Polavaram...

three fold increase in budget...how do you expect the govt to release funds to such tune ? 30,000 excess expenditure...emi bhai etla kanipistundi government CBN ki ? paisal anukuntunda chinta ginjalu anukuntunda ?
