The benefits you get with this card is the best, you will definitely get itt's worth.

Ofcourse it's not for everybody

It varies as it depends on you how you use the points cause AMEX has several airline and hotel partners and you can transfer points to them.

You can cashout points but you will not get high yield , probably around $520.

FYI, there is a workaorund to get 100k offer. Refer doctorofcredit.

Along with points, you get $200 each year as airlines incidental fees, so if you opened lets say today, you can get $200 back as statement credit each year, so $550-$400.

Then you have Uber($200)  credits plus lounges access..etc...etc ...too many perks.

It's a gimmick to take any travel cards. I'm using Chase Freedom Reserve and I wish i wouldn't have opened. You spend and they reward but are you REALLY willing to spend at the cost of REWARDS? IMO, you shouldn't unless you spend lavishly and don't bother about it.

Akkade telustondi, aa cards meeda kaasta kooda research cheyyaledu ani.

@chitti naidu

The BOGO business offer is not so much helpful. Not every Biz class fare is eligible. Only full fare refundable fares qualify. They run extremely expensive. These fares work for high level execs who can charge it to the caompany and take +1 for free in Biz.

On a similar note, do not rule out the platinum card please. The $550 fee looks like a monster but the benefits are really nice.

Let us assume you NEVER spend anything on travel.

Applying for this card in December makes most sense to me. Listen below:

Every calendar year the card yields $200 in travel credit. These are officially supposed to work on incidentals like baggage, extra legroom fee etc but they work on certain gift cards as well. You select an airline every year and spend incidentals on that only.I buy AA/SW/DL gift cards and use them slowly. Those GCs do not expire. At times I sell them for 85%to cash out. Assuming you applied in Dec 2018, you get travel credit 3X:

Dec 2018, Jan 2019 & Jan 2020

However, you get billed $550 in Dec 2019 (start of year # 2). But you can cancel the card within 30 days of annual fee and get all $550 (paid for year #2) back.

So timing is key. If you follow this so far, you are $50 positive already. Now lets come to other benefits.

Sign up bonus : 100K points promo is quite often. 100K points value is $1000 in cash at least. I personally use my points on business class fare but that is your interest. Sometimes I sell my points as I have contacts. That is somewhat of a next level but not rocket science.

Yearly $200 in Uber rides (monthly 15 and 35 in december). You can use them on Uber Eats also. I value that at $150 at least.

On top of this you get priority pass lounge access, $100 global entry OR TSA Pre ($85) benefit. the GE credit is only once in years.

Their Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) program has nice hidden gems in it. For example Delano in Las Vegas participates in FHR and they give $100 stay credit for every stay. Even if you book for 1 night thru FHR you get $100 in food credit. I have booked several $140/night stays and gotten $100 worth of food. Pretty awesome.

If you live near a Centurion lounge (PHL/LGA/SFO/LAX/IAH/DFW/MIA) you get free entry and take 2 other guests. Those centurion lounges are top notch. I am not a fan of domestic lounges in the US but Centurion lounges are awesome.

To put together in money terms:

Spend

$550 on Annual Fee

Receive

$1000 in signup bonus  + $150 Uber credit valuation + $600 Airline GCs

Put whatever valuation you think is right for GE Credit, Priority Pass Lounge, Centurion Lounge, FHR Access

If we do the math till now, you are at least $1200 ahead in year 1.

There are 4 different versions of platinum cards. Assuming you and your spouse churn this card, in 4 years you got to make 2 x $1200 x 4 = $9600

Inka advanced interest unte let me know, I will share more info I know on this card.

I do not have any referral links to share. My referral links get you 60K bonus which I do not recommend.

Ardham avvaka pote Qs adagandi kaani, idi scam, trash, BS, credit score paadavutundi ani anoddu. I have been doing the churning game for 5 years, have 25 credit cards, pay almost $3K in annual fees but I come out ahead every year. Naa credit score 828 undi. Mortgage applications lo nenu lender ki explain chesa honest gaa. He went through credit report, asked more paper work and he is totally fine.
