Even though several of his previous movies were "Inspired" from hollywood flicks, SSR has never been maligned in the media as much as he is being now. Many insiders say that this is payback from the mega family for SSR getting all the credit for Magadheera even though they spent huge sums of money in getting that film made, and also their young hero being marginalised by the director.

Its funny how these internal politics work in film industry. They want the director to be successful for their projects, but they wish the very person to fail in his other endeavours. This is especially true of the mega family, who are known to be extremely insecure about losing their grip on the industry. Hence they have unleashed a sustained attack in the media about SSR and his latest copycat flick Maryada Raamanna.
