Spartan Posted May 11, 2018 Report Posted May 11, 2018 Even before its official launch, the Rs 43,000-crore Mission Bhagiratha which was intended to provide treated drinking tap water to every household in the state, has itself run into a water crisis. The main water pipelines from Krishna and Godavari have reached all districts, and work on internal pipelines to provide tap connections to every household is currently under way. But with water levels in the Krishna and Godavari basin dams hitting dead storage level, the trial runs of Mission Bhagiratha have had to be halted. Water inflow into the dams is expected by August provided there is a good monsoon in June and July, and officials have said deadlines cannot be met until then. Quote
