I had pointed this issue an year back. 

Donating is a good thing to do but just because there is a chance to take advantage of donors, its not a good thing to do.

and when I make such comment, I usually make sure 'emotion' has no place to decide the cause for donation and only need.

look at the cause, look at the need and then donate...not because of emotional reasons...
