Car repair help

I have 2012 honda accord , done with warranty.

Today took it to dealer for service maintainance.

He tells me my brake pads needs to be changed and charging 690 dollars 400 for labor and 290 for parts 

next power steering fluid is leaking and said i have to replace the system which he is charging 1700 dollars 

700 per parts and 1000 for labor 

total 2600 anni kalipi and he will give 150 discount annadu.

i am surprised as my car is in great shape and dont know if he is conning me 

how to know if the dealer is not trying to rip me off 

 

is it worth to repair it or take it to car max and sell it and get a new car

Go for local auto repair shop avoid dealers .

Take it to honda dealership .. power steering fluid leak ki.. it will cost 670 and brake pads, change front or rear depending in which one is bad .. at most total shouldn’t cost more then 1300

buy  brake pads in autoaccessoriesgarage...less than 200 ki vastundi and auto shop ki tesukupothe 200-300 labour  avutundi

Break pads each will cost max 30$ if it 28$ .. total job should be under 150.

You don't need to replace power steering  fluid on your car.  Not at all required unless it's making noise during turnings ... Not required at all

My sincere suggestion don't go to that ugly dealer again

this is what it said power steering rack is leaking , left axle seal is leaking 

than he states steering and suspension system requires immediate attention and said needs rack 1698 price 

front and rear brakes 230 and 460 

 

i felt i was being ripped off 

but he scared me into not using the car 

engine or steering is not making any noise 

does power steering fluid needs to replaced every few months

Look for car mechanics who come home and change things. Brake pads common things kabatti chalega...ok $100 labour and get your own spares online

Brake pads in AutoZone cosm with life time warranty 

 Buy them find a local mechanic nad fix them 

Power steering rack anylte go-to good year they charge very less compRed to dealer

+1. Don't go to dealer. Buy brake parts from Curry honda online and then take to local shop
