Lata Mangeshkar is Nationally known... she sang songs in almost 36 languages, Assam ki vellina Lata evaro telsu.. akkada velli NTR evar ani adigite cheptara evaraina... thats the difference...state ki em chesam annadi kaadu...National pride kosam em chesaru annadi important. he got Padma sri right..thats more than enough. i hope they take away MGRs BR as well. The Bharat Ratna is conferred "in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order", without distinction of race, occupation, position, or sex NTR acting ki Padma Sri. But Telugu Jaati Pride negates the purpose of Bharat Ratna... Quote

Vishwesharayya was an engineer and his services are rendered locally in karnataka and AP region. Sarvepalli and Chari are either freedom fighters or presidents. The presidency is a nominated post. Even pratibha patil could get it. Who knows her prior presidency?? Quote
