Hello - in order to communicate with them in the clubs you need to know Spanish or Portuguese basic. That is the reason I said São Paulo is better as most of them are young crowd with a knowledge of English . Rio is mostly touristic place. But if you are going only for girls then go to Recife or Florianapolis
