Ford and other car manufacturers are loosing at least 200 million dollars a year on sedan segment.

 

Ford made a bold move which is good, anyway they where not refeisgning their taurs and fiesta for long time now.

 

SUVs like ford escape takes same amount of cost to manufacture sedan like Ford focus.  But you can sell for 3 to 4 k more price than regular sedan. So more profits for car manufacturers. So they are investing all money in suv and wagons.
