Be careful if your are going to White Sands. There is a check point right after it towards elpaso. Its with ina mile or two from whitedands. I was stopped once and it took us clode two three hourz to complete our verfication as we are not carrying ppassport. Luckliy everyone had i 797 in email and we gave them numbers. White sands not woth the  risk. I woulx say not go in your situation
