white sands is a nice palce to visit. i think it is near border. so be careful.

carlsbad caverns bhaguntayi. a must see place. see if there is bat migration and go during sun down.

u can also goto santa fe for skiing. coming from denver i dont think that is the priority.

there is a ropeway near santa fe.highest or longest..not sure what it is. 

try going to roswell. it is the place where ppl believe that UFO once crashed. Bars and pubs are UFO themed and is a nice experience. if you are a scifi enthusiast , you should try to go there.

Also there is a large array telescope in new mexico. not sure if they allow visitors. saw it from a distance. Enjoy your trip.
