any civil engineer who has some idea about construction

My House is built in 2017 october in minneapolis , today we were in our drive way and talking suddenly i noticed lot of echo. i tried talking little loud and there was huge echo lasting for 3 to 5 seconds .

we are highest point in town , but it is a flat ground on top lots of open land like 50 acres or so no trees or any thing

was wondering what is the reason for this echo

Sounds are pressure vibrations in the air. The speed of sound is about 1000 feet per second (fps). If you have a sound source and you are standing downwind, say with awind velocity of 100 fps, then the sound will reach you 10% faster, and will be 20% more powerful

i bet you that this is will just change in the upcoming months with change in wind pattern

You said it’s driveway. So, I assume it’s a regular open space driveway. The echo should have nothing to do with the construction. You said you are in high elevation, so may be sound produced from your hill is echoing with the other. Remember the hills don’t have to be very obvious, even if they are like flat valleys, the sound still echos. Think of a foot ball stadium.

i was little bit wOrried as i tried dOing It In my nieghbor driveway but OnLy echO in my drive way.

i am Planning to get home insPection before 1 year of building so i can hve contractor to fix any issues
