My project was ending too while I was due extension and I had to go out of country so didn’t apply in advance . I was lucky enough to get project immediately . Many people will be in your situation . Talk to employer or your lawyer he will tell you options edi chala common scenario . I was there too couple of times but escaped with last minute projects . I applied twice for extension on my visa expiry date (2014, 2018). Just saying to give you confidence .
