+1

Contracting lo ippatiki very good pay unnayi konni techs lo. 85 to hand in Florida  now. 110 per hr in NYC few days back vasthe I did not take it. There are good projects. Villu choodaledhani inka ekkada levu annatlu maatladatharu.

Yes I have my friends earning those amounts not a big thing. As I said you need to upgrade your skills with latest technologies.

and on top of it you can also earn OT pay if your project is a busy one ( my current one is like this). Anything over 8hrs I charge 2 times. Other benefit in consulting is you don’t need to own things which is not the case with FT (by the way I was an FT for 5 year before moving to Consulting).

if not for H1b extension/headaches for me Consulting is always a top priority ( luckily my employer gives good health insurance package)

India trip ki vellalante? I work full time and I go to India once every 2-3 years and stay for atleast 5 weeks or so when I go

That depends on your understanding with the client. WFH istharu if you have urgent issues and need to go or if it is a valid timeout. If you want to take 1 month mandatory break every year, you should try teaching not IT.

52 weeks 2 holidays each = 104 days=261 working days 261*8= 2088 working hours. 2088-80 for 10 mandatory holidays in general. 2008 working hours and not 1900 hours you calculated. Our present client has the option to not recognize American holidays as our team is global and someone or the other is working. I take thanks giving, Christmas and new year and a couple of others. My choice but I still get paid.

Babu ...as a contractor you need to work 2000 hours to get x amount ...for same x amount full time will work 2000-paid vacation -paid sick leave  = 1900. 2088 we shouldn't count at all only 2008 hours we need to count. Hope this clears your equation

Not worth it. Equal to 110k in Atlanta or Dallas

If u just look the financial part, yes 200k in bay area is equal to 110k in atlanta. But in other factors atlanta is like 50 years back compared to bay area
