26-year-old Indian Student Shot Dead in Kansas Eatery, Family in Telangana Awaits Answers

A 26-year-old young man identified as Sharath Koppu was reportedly shot dead in a shooting incident inside a restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday evening (local time). Hailing from Warangal district in Telangana, he was studying at the University of Missouri.

The Indian Consulate General of India in Chicago confirmed the incident in a tweet. It wrote on Twitter: “An Indian student became victim of shooting in Kansas City, Missouri. We r in contact with his family & police. We will provide all assistance. Our officers are also on the way to Kansas City. @SushmaSwaraj @IndianDiplomacy @NavtejSarna @India in USA”

A 24-year old student from Telangana State was shot dead inside a restaurant in America. He was studying at University of Missouri in Kansas city.

The victim Sharath Koppu was hailed from Warangal district. He was found in a pool of blood with a bullet injury behind the body. The eye witness said about five rounds were fired by the assailants. The Kansas City police rushed the injured Sharath to hospital where he declared brought dead.

Sharath parents are residing in Hyderabad. The victim father K Rammohan, a BSNL employee,  Sharath completed his engineering at a private college in Warangal before moving to US. His son was staying in 5303 Charlotte Street Apartment. In the incident , two of the Sharath's friends escaped the bullets.
