26-year-old Indian Student Shot Dead in Kansas Restaurant, Family in Telangana Awaits Answers

A 26-year-old young man identified as Sharath Koppu was reportedly shot dead in a shooting incident inside a restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday evening (local time). Hailing from Warangal district in Telangana, he was studying at the University of Missouri.

The Indian Consulate General of India in Chicago confirmed the incident in a tweet. It wrote on Twitter: “An Indian student became victim of shooting in Kansas City, Missouri. We r in contact with his family & police. We will provide all assistance. Our officers are also on the way to Kansas City. @SushmaSwaraj @IndianDiplomacy @NavtejSarna @India in USA”

The worker said Koppu was related to the owner of J's Fish and Chicken, which has three locations in Kansas City.
 

Three or four customers were in the store at the time of the attempted robbery, the man said, as well as several employees behind the counter.

Another worker at the restaurant Saturday, tears streaming down her face, screamed at the unfairness of Koppu's early death, how he didn't have a chance to say goodbye to his parents.

Also the students in Krishna/Guntur districts must be taught that the kula gajji they export to USA will not help and those who shoot Indians do not look into their caste before shooting.
