1. dude, @LordOfMud is saying that, there's no such specific restriction. That is, no clause saying offense to god is unacceptable. Pakistan has it under their blasphemy laws. What India has is probably general restriction on free speech like in most western countries (except US). But the question whether katthi mahesh violated it is not a question that you and I can answer.

2. lol. what did police handle? banning a person from a city is not handling the issue. btw, they had to do it because of pressure from Hindus, not some magical people hiding behind mountains to come out only when they wish to cause trouble.

3. I have to go out of box. because I am not constitutionalist. I don't respect constitution of any country. I am a firm advocate of freedom, not slavery to one's country/religion/region/whatever bullshit.

how people responded to it, especially the middle class (which is actually the uppermiddle class) who are such a powerful force on the social media scene, is the reason police had to do it. They didn't just decide on a whiim to ban him.
