Though Mani Sharma is called as 'Melody Brahma', he can compose fast beats, mass numbers, etc., on par with melodies. Today he is turning a year older, so let us all wish him 'A Very Happy Birthday'. Born to famous violinist, YN Sharma in Machilipatnam, Mani Sharma spent most of his childhood in Chennai. He realised that his career is music just at the age of 18 and started learning keyboard in late 80s under the guidance of Sri Satyam. Mani Sharma was highly inspired by Ilaiyaraaja's compositions. He used to tell that he learned a lot about music by observing maestro's work. Also, he worked under Ilaiyaraaja when he was in Chennai. Mani also worked under Raj-Koti and MM Keeravaani. When Mani was under the tutelage of Raj-Koti, AR Rahman was his best pal who also started his career as a keyboardist under the duo. Mani's 15 years of experience of working under various music directors reflects in his compositions. A very dedicated person, Mani Sharma has given music to more than 200 films in Telugu and Tamil till date. He recorded more number of songs with legendary singers SP Balasubrahmanyam and KS Chithra. Even before turning as a composer, Mani used to tour with SPB as a keyboard player. Mani Sharma entered film industry with Ram Gopal Varma's 'Raatri' by composing back ground music (BGM). His first film as a composer is 'Super Heroes'. First break in his career is Chiranjeevi's 'Bavagaru Bagunnara'. Also, he has composed title track for Chiranjeevi's TV show 'Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu'. Though at some point of time, the composer experienced a fall in his career, he reverted with Mohana Krishna Indraganti's 'Gentleman'. Mani Sharma is a gem in producing apt BGM which can be witnessed in many of his movies. Mani's dream is to work with director Shankar. Filmfare and Nandi awrads were given to Mani Sharma for his exceptional contributions to the films. Quote
