Why do a lot of Asian American women exclusively date white guys in college, but marry an Asian man and settle later in life?

is question is amusing because I've seen this happen quite often. So let me explain in layman's terms…

Asian-American women I've known who exhibited this behavior have justified dating outside their ethnicity for the following reasons (each correlates with one or the other):

1. They were brought up under strict Tiger Parents who controlled their social life.
2. They had a strict father who was borderline abusive, thus blamed the entire male of their species for their father's behavior.
3. They were raised in conservative Asian culture inside the home, but exposed to a liberal American culture outside. They chose to become more American.

So you can say it's a combination of dislike of their parents’ culture, dislike of their father, dislike towards their own ethnicity, and being in college… Having more freedom to do and date whomever they please. Think of it as the reverse of the guy sowing his oats but as payback to their family.

Now do you know the saying by John Adams that goes…
