ekkadaina normal ga 20-30 min commute even with driving is common in US, 45 min with public transit that too very frequent subway sytem in NY I can manage that's my take.

malla depends on the place at manhattan ??

depends on the type of house you want to rent; normal ga most of the working professionals rent a room in house which have shared kitchen or sometimes ppl go for basement or leasing out an apartment( i wouldn't do that coz its expensive)
