"Empathising with silk farmers struggling to meet rising costs of labour and material, our government linked the NREGS with sericulture in an unprecedented move to offer additional assistance to reduce their burden and encourage them to keep going. About 5441 new silk farmers got a jumpstart to go all in with an assistance of about 31.73 Cr from the NREGS during our tenure.
