It means companies can go fcuk themselves.  

they exist only as a vehicle for people to make money by beating one tech to death in search for cheaper ways to make it. It is a bit disingenuous for somebody to head one such company, and claim that he has no interest in making money.

That person should stay in some govt labs, not in companies. and contribute to opensource, and make stuff for free for people

I respect elon musk for his vision...

But the reality is that investors look for return rather than the vision and as long as they don't get back the money, it would never be a successful venture. 

It's a business. Musk is not doing any philanthropy. Investors had trust within him and invested in his vision so that they can get returns. It's not a charitable organization and presently, TESLA is going completely against the rules of investment and profit and investors will not tolerate this.

Yes, thats what I mean and made it a point in my previous posts.

Lets automakers build what they are good at and let Musk concentrate what he thinks is good for the society....interchanging the roles will make one of them a failure and in this case, Musk is going to take a hit.
