Once that is done, their biggest problem is to show net profitability on that scale. Once done, I think there will be no questions about survival for the company. The Company will have 3 problems 1) $7500 tax rebates will expire by end of this year and no one knows how this is going to impact model 3 reservations. 2) Once they fulfil all model 3 reservations, whats next for them until they produce a car that is really price competitive with ICE 3) How many can they produce and sell once they sell it to Tesla Fans waiting in queue Quote

His father was an engineer, worked in emerald mines, and owned huge stakes in it. If money making is not his primary goal, is he sharing Tesla profits with his factory workers? On the contrary, he has expressly, and aggressively stopped every attempt at his employees to create a union. He didn't found Tesla, or SpaceX, and had nothing to do with paypal too, other than selling x.com to it, and having a public spat with one of the founders. But he did build Tesla to the level it is today. And has single handedly pioneered awesome electric cars, revolutionized the way cars are sold. He's cool. Musk has great energy and enthusiasm, but has too much of a hero syndrome. It comes with growing up without perspective, as a rich boy surrounded by really really poor people, who his father and his company had exploited. Quote

Investors are the people who made Tesla what it is today. overpaying for its stock, and dancing to his tune, almost. He won't get any better bunch of investors anywhere else. certainly not if he takes his company private. Quote
