i don't think so, I94 expire tharvathaa nuvvu work cheyakodadhu, but you can stay in Us, if MTR is denied ,  over stay  flag  considered from after I94 expire date.

MTR doesn’t give you any kind of legal status or validity for you to stay. 

basically illegal ani vadina 

it should be out of status; then if you are out of status for a certain period of time you will be illegal. So being out of status and illegal has a thin line of difference
