by the way, if Venezuela is never a democracy, then India/US also isn't. Venezuela had 80% turnout in presidential elections, except in the recent one which dropped to 40%. many stayed back, because opposition tried to boycott the elections (with US insistence) to get the world to declare the election invalid even before it was held. The plan flopped, because Maduro's base was enthused enough, and at the last minute couple candidates from the opposition stood, and lost. Maduro got 75% of the votes polled.

Venezuela has voting machines, and a paper trail. UN tried to find fault with the process, but was unable to do so. 

Yes, Venezuela is mishandling its economy, with brain dead policies, mainly with wrong investments and currency manipulation, but Venezuelan govt still has popular support. Venezuelans who support Maduro (among the poorest) are literally afraid of their lives if the opposition comes to power.

Maduro got 75% of the votes polled in the recent election (okay the turnout was low).. in contrast Modi got 31% mandate, and he's a popular leader, and Venezuela is not a democracy aa?

video choodataaniki opika ledantey.. Venezuelans vote, and receive a paper based confirmation of their vote, which they have to deposit in the box ahead after they cast their vote.

compare this with India, which hasn't introduced paper trails all over. and refuses voting machines to 3rd party scrutiny.  Is India a democracy?
