chito Posted August 29, 2018 Report Posted August 29, 2018 As per gift tax act, money transferred to parents is not taxable in India. I've transferred more than 15 lakhs in a week to my parents while purchasing an apartment. Maybe send multiple transfers like < 5 lakhs each as if it's a lump sum amount then bank might ask your parents to provide some documents with recent demonetization rules. Xoom lo once you provide SSN, you can transfer 20,000 USD (30 days) and 30,000 USD (180 days) Quote

Maryadaramanna Posted August 29, 2018 Report Posted August 29, 2018 Don't open any new account; ado pedda bokka. You can send upto 30 lakh per month to parents no one cares. But, endukaina manchidi send small amounts (<2 lakh) in one transaction. Personal experiences specific ga evaru share cheskokapovachu, but most of us experienced the same situation. chill Quote
