Is that a must and should that politicians go and visit the dead always ? 

I mean, I don’t understand the logic here....is it a new standard or is this an age old tradition that every politician should follow ?

He is not only a politician but the Interim Chief Minister of the State where such a big accident happened and so many people lost their lives.

So, what should have happened and what has happened ? Is it a must and should that a politician or a CM should go and visit the accident victims everytime it happens or is there any criteria for that like type of accident or number of people killed or magnitude of the incident etc...

Cos, no matter who ever is that politician...pinkie or yellow...if the CM has to visit every accident victim, them the five rule will be completely occupied just by visiting the victims.

Or did you mean that CM should take such visitations only when such big accidents happen ? then what about people who get killed in smaller accidents...leave them like that and such people do not deserve a visitation from CM for their mortal remains ?

There will be multiple reasons people like CM visit when such a big accident happens and some of them:

State is being governed by him and with the policies of his government and because of complete or partial failure of his governments policies such a big loss of life happened. There could be many things his government could have done to avoid an accident with such a massive toll of life. 

It is to show solidarity and support to the people and indeed giving assurance to the people of the entire state that the government is there for the people and when the top government official visits will show the seriousness

When CM visits the place there will be more attention from all the government agencies which will help in making sure that the people in need are helped.

From your logic PM should not have tweeted about the tragic accident that had happened. Now that he has tweeted for this big accident he should also be tweeting for all the small accidents that happen every day, every state in the entire country. You should probably also question why PM only tweeted for this big accident but not for the other small accidents that would have happened in the other places of the country on the same day.

As I said earlier You don’t understand the logic if you keep your pink eyes.
