Ambedkar asked for separate electorates for a period of time, just like muslims asked before partition. but Gandhi was too adamant against separate electorates. muslims asked him to fcuk off and created pakistan. Ambedkar caved in, and settled on this thing called reservations, which is not even half of what Ambedkar asked.
