Who are these people  benefited by the govt? None of the H1 holders utilize these benefits. Shouldn't this rule be a good news for us?

Why so much of negativity around this.

వాషింగ్టన్‌: వలసదారులపై కఠినంగా వ్యవహరిస్తూ.. వారి భవితవ్యంతో ఆడుకుంటున్న ట్రంప్‌ సర్కారు మరో కొత్త నిబంధనను అమల్లోకి తెచ్చేందుకు సిద్ధమవుతోంది. ఆహారం, నగదు సాయం రూపంలో ప్రభుత్వ లబ్ధి పొందిన, పొందుతున్న వలసదారులకు గ్రీన్‌కార్డుల్ని నిరాకరించాలన్న ఆలోచనలో ఉంది. ఇది కార్యరూపం దాల్చితే అమెరికాలో నివసిస్తోన్న వేలాది మంది భారతీయులపై తీవ్ర ప్రతికూల ›ప్రభావం పడనుంది. ఈ ప్రతిపాదిత నిబంధనపై సెప్టెంబర్‌ 21న అమెరికా హోం ల్యాండ్‌ సెక్యూరిటీ(డీహెచ్‌ఎస్‌)కార్యదర్శి సంతకం చేశారు. ఆ శాఖ వెబ్‌సైట్‌లో వివరాల్ని అందుబాటులో ఉంచారు. కాగా అమెరికాలోని ప్రముఖ ఐటీ సంస్థలు, రాజకీయ నాయకులు ఈ నిర్ణయాన్ని తీవ్రంగా తప్పుపడుతున్నాయి.

Under current interpretation, green-card holders may become deportable as public charges only if they use cash welfare or are institutionalized in long-term care funded by the government.
