Having a girl is a blessing and an additional responsibility..As a dad we always keep an eye on who is coming close to her. If it’s a Son,  other folks gotta worry.. lol. Except for this scenario I don’t see any advantages.

I dont think mankind has evolved so much that they have to ignore 1000's of years knowledge

1. Son carries the genetic lineage of your gotra (maname poyaka gotram emundi le ane edavalaki doesnt apply)

2. one who gets the last rites from son can get the spiritual salvation (those idiots who think life on earth is mere coincidence does apply)

3. there is no good or bad between son and daughter, we never had to restrict ourselves for children in historical past ever, once have 2-3 children easily, this is something we have introduced in our lifetime, so the question of choosing between on or the other is redundant and applied only in your mind and has no economic/scientific basis for this (china being overpopulated proved that they can beat west in rapid development, pop control measures were for controlling future growth not for current pop)

conclusion : dont restrict to one child, age unnapude go for 2 minimum

wrong... any child going in wrong direction is a worry

a boy getting into drugs is more painful than girl seeing wrong guy..
