We follow a czech republican friend of mine's advise on this.. he strictly enforces the same rule with his three daughters at home... no english, only their language at home

Inkem levu adhokkate follow avtham as of now.... rest all regular stuff .. i try to make him play basketball but vadu court ki theeskellaka ball odhilesi matti lo aadatha ani edusthadu, so hopefully he will develop some interest in some sport...

theda ledu... schools lo multiple languages nerputharu... ikkada english and spanish.. india lo english, telugu and hindi... ikkada day care lo ne spanish words and numbers nerputharu, you dont even have to be in actual school in first class for that ... meaning at the age of <5 you learn a second language like spanish here... same in India too where you learn telugu alphabet in 1st class or so.... 

US lo schools lo telugu nerparu kabatti intlo nerpukuntaru ...

Also your example of delay in communication is stupid... it depends on some kids who have issues with speaking and hence doctors prescribe speech therapies and sticking to single language to help them pick up.... its not a universal concept that every kid will have speech issues if they get introduced to multiple languages lol
