Tableau help

Tableau gurus need help

 

Below are my questions-

1. One of my team member created a mapping using a Oracle data source. Can I use the same mapping for another Oracle data source (different environment example dev to uat) or if I chance data source do I need to rebuild the mapping again.

2. Extract- is it necessary to extract the data and then publish the mapping to the server or can i publish the mapping to server without extract as extract is taking long time on laptop

1 avasaram ledu. Source oracle ee aithe edit chesi server name login change cheyyi.

2. Extract kakunda live petti publish cheyyi. It will be live connection even on server.

Thanks bro, but 

1. Oracle lo oka environment to another change chesthe I am getting an error on join - there is an error in one of the inputs to the join. Both environment have same set of tables too. How to handle this?

2. Live mapping ni server ki publish chesi akkada extract cheyacha?

 

This might be a basic question in tableau. Sorry I am new to tableau.

Also when changing Oracle data source, schema ela change cheyali. May be because of schema ala join error vastundhi emo.

why do you want to do extract?? If you want make workbooks and local machines lo operate cheyadaniki you create extracts instead of using server

I'd say write a custom sql query and check if it's running as a normal sql and then use it in tableau

First tableau desktop lo try changing data source bro .. join lo tables remove chesi malli add chey.. 

desktop lo do extract and then publish.. you don’t have to extract on server again.

you can refresh the extract on server too.

Extract enduku anukuntunavu ante, data challa ekkuva undhi, so monthly or when required days ni extract chesi they want to pull re ports out if it. Live reports prod lo run chesthe db resources daniki consume avutthai ani ala chestunaru

Extract local desktop lone chestunaru kani adi more than 6 hours padutundhi, server ki publish chesaka kotha data vachaka malli extract cheyali kada server lo? For that purpose was think if we can publish the mapping and then extract in server. Ala ithe server lo extract fast ga avutundhi kada ani doubt

I mean Oracle db lo multiple schema untai ga, same schema to different data source ithe working different ithe error vastundhi. So schema name kuda update chese option em Ana unda ani checking.

Not all the time bro u have to remove tables and add.. Edo error ostundi ant unav kada .. so try chey Ala ani chepa

cheyyalevu... Server lo extract kavalante local lo extract create cheyyali.

 

Yes desktop lo extract chala time teesukuntundi when compared to server.

Ledante ee option  nenu o sari try chesa.. if you have create view access try  it.

• Create view in db with restricted data like limit / sample or  any one date. Create extract in local publish to server.
• Remove where clause or any restrictions in view and refresh extract on server.

okay even I do the same extract thing... just want to make sure if it's like this other organizations tooo

schema different antunnav kabatti I believe u should be joining tables in different schemas make sure you have access to those schemas neeku access lekapovadam valla kuda you might that get that error and custom sql should work for sure
