3 sems will be completed by end of this year. And will be left with 3 more 

Planning  to attend  visa interview very soon 

question - do I need to be on f1 visa at least for 1  year (3 semesters ) in order to gain OPT.. ??? Someone said this to me

You need to complete certain number of credits before they give you CPT. OPT is after you graduate. Most decent universities have these rules.

To be eligible for cpt or opt, f1 meedha half of total credits undali, two full time semesters undali...9 credits/each sem...check with DSO, may vary for each univ, university tho check cheskoni proceed avvandi, otherwise might repent later

Doesnt.matter but MS complete ayi undaali normally you cannot complete MS within 1year so 1year rule apply avvochu.. but MS graduate ayyakaney opt othadi

OPT Eligibility

A student is eligible for OPT if:

• The student has been a full-time student for one academic year in an SEVP-certified:
  • College
  • University
  • Conservatory
  • Seminary
• The student is not studying English as a Second Language.
• The student’s proposed employment relates to the student’s major area of study.
• The student has not used all of the practical training available at the current level of study.
• The student has not been authorized for 12 months or more of full-time Curricular Practical Training (CPT).

Note: Full-time CPT at a previous school at the same program level counts toward the 12-month total. CPT at another program level does not count toward the 12-month total.
