entha salary untey bathakachu bro mee bay area la? both working aithey? with renting and going forward mortgage. Pls let me know. Thanks. and school districts baguntaya?

Schools chala super man. Chala pockets unnayi.. affordable localities to ultra posh ones kuda unnayi. it is one of the main I stuck to bay area

Rental market is only negative I see in Bay area. own house unte obviously cool. i bought my house during the meltdown so lucked out.

in my opinion I find west coast cheaper in few ways..Let me explain why.

1) east is colder and hence more heating costs

2) in east i feel people commute longer distances as work place is far off either in downtown or other city and hence more commute costs; even bay area is getting there becuase of rising rentals and peole are moving far off but there enough options if you hate commuting

3) day care/pre school costs are high in the east; i pay $1250 as school fee per kid and for similar or worse care my friends on a avg pay 1800 in Boston  and herndon

4) most of car parking doesn’t come with covered parking in the east coast; it is a pain in the rear during the snow season and you will have to  pay extra if you want covered parking and I also feel the auto insurance costs are a bit on higher end when compared to west coast

5) for the interviews that I attended few years ago(fulltime) I observed on an avg for the same job the pay offer was 20-25k lesser overall

konni reasons chepandi

If ur thopu and are very determined to succeed there r lots of opportunities. Not that similar ppl in other regions dont succeed but the mere number of opportunities to succeed is more . If you are into meetups (talking only about tech meetups) n networking you will find so many. Considerable number of places to explore if you are interested.

Good one, that 20-25k different will cover the expense part (rent etc) and make it similar to other places, right ? so, there is not much advantage interms of high salary alone then.. agree with you with other reasons though

First and foremost, it’s the weather.

More job options. Even if we are done with the project, chances are good that we may find another one in Bay Area much easier than any where else. Less pain of relocation...weather all round...many things to do near by....lot of attractions and abundant nature with in driving distance...laidback culture...!

for contracters it may be good, if you are on FTE, foolish to be in bay area with those crazy taxes and housing costs
