యునైటెడ్‌ అరబ్‌ ఎమిరేట్స్‌లో అతిపెద్ద ఆరోగ్య సేవల సంస్థగా పేరు గాంచిన న్యూ మెడికల్‌ సెంటర్‌ (ఎన్‌ఎంసీ) ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో రెండు దశల్లో రూ.12,500 కోట్ల పెట్టుబడులు పెట్టనుంది. ఈ విషయమై ఎన్‌ఎంసీ ఎగ్జిక్యూటివ్‌ వైస్‌ఛైర్మన్‌ బీఆర్‌ శెట్టి మే 2వ తేదీన ప్రభుత్వంతో అవగాహన ఒప్పందాలు చేసుకోనున్నారు. ఎన్‌ఎంసీ సంస్థ రెండు దశల్లో రాష్ట్రంలోని వివిధ ప్రాంతాల్లో 4,500 పడకల సామర్థ్యంతో ఆసుపత్రులు నిర్మించనుంది. ఇందులో భాగంగా తొలి దశలో అమరావతిలో 1400 పడకల ఆసుపత్రి, కర్నూలులో 300 పడకల ఆసుపత్రి నిర్మించనుంది. ఇదే దశలో అమరావతిలో ఒక ఫైవ్ స్టార్ హోటల్‌ తో పాటు ఒక అంతర్జాతీయ కన్వెన్షన్‌ సెంటర్‌ ను కూడా ఏర్పాటు చేయనుంది. ఈ నిర్మాణాలన్నింటినీ 2019లోగా పూర్తి చేయాలని లక్ష్యంగా పెట్టుకున్నట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. రెండో దశలో రాష్ట్రంలోని వివిధ ప్రాంతాల్లో 2,800 పడకల స్థాయి ఆసుపత్రులు, వైద్య పరికరాలు, ఔషధాల తయారీ సంస్థలను ఏర్పాటు చేయనుంది.

"The future of two prestigious institutes, to be set up in the capital city of Amaravati, is hanging in balance, with the authorities of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) issuing notices to the Indo UK Institute of Health and the BR Shetty Medicity Health Care and Research Private Limited, both institutes of NRIs.

For record, the CRDA allocated 50 acres for the Indo UK Institute of Health and 100 acres for the BR Shetty Medicity.

However, on the pretext that both the managements have failed to begin construction works in the stipulated time, the CRDA has issued notices, asking both the firms to commence the works immediately."
