Just an example for heat check on VD’s growing popularity. Evavdo  3rd party youtuber taxiwala trailer remix chesi pettinadu ninna, not even the offical trailer and it garnered 1M views in less than a day(12 hours to be exact).

VD is an urban phenomenon.

VS born in Chennai, is mostly popular only among urban lower class. Others who are his fans are just riding on tailcoats of his stardom.

its a bit like Rajinikanth, who was ridiculed by the upperclass in Chennai, until he started making more and more money. Now we have losers in doing circus acts in US when Rajnikanth's popularity has faded. At this moment Rajnikanth, and Vijay are both heavily propped by the media, but you can see genuine affection for VS. and he's cashing in on it playing the part of a humble chennai boy.
