It is not four downs - 

basically the team kicks off from 25 yards of their own line

the field is 100 yards

yafter the kickoff the offense comes in and has to go in increments of 10+ yards in three downs 

if they are on their side of the foeld or in desperation mode they use the fourth down to get to the first down marker 

like that you go in and get the touchdown  

offense is generally 1Qb

5 offensive lineman

4 widereceivers or 3 widereceivwrs and tight end and 1 running back- need not be like that - can change 

 

defence is 34 defense or 4 3 deense

 

if it is 3 4 you have 3 defensive linemen - 2 outside linebackers -1 middle linebacker - -1 inside linebacker - 2 corners and 2 safeties

my point in comparing the sports was to ask u to not be condescending to ppl who like football.

like u said.. its each persons choice.

theres no superior or inferior games.

Haha I agree, I only watch the Super bowl games for the most part and that too for some creative commercials.
