Is it good to have 1 kid or 2 kids with moderate Income?

There is no correct answer to this question. It is all based on your life situation and expectation.

If you want to have a relaxed life and enjoy it between 30 to 55 go for 1 kid or no kids. Kids are a drag on your money, time and emotions. Who knows how long you will live after 55? You will be dedicating your peak productive age to them.  I know people who have decided not to have kids because of this.  I personally will have only one kid.

If you are a family/kids person and want to spend 30 to 55 years raising them then have 2 or more. 

1 kid or 2 kids or 3 kids ultimately have no expectation from them. Once they are 16 to 18 in US or 21 in India they are gone, they have their opinions, plans and life and you will only be a minor part of their life. Also don't expect them to support each other.  After certain age they become self centric and they don't care about siblings.

also don't expect them to take care of you when you are old. Mana generation mottaniki old age homes e gati.. USA or India.. By the time we get into 60s and 70s India also would have rapidly urbanized and westernized..

i live with a family who has only one kid son.

 he gets bored.   I think having 2 kids very reasonable and even more is appreciated
